Follow MTsc with Twitter

Follow Metro Tulsa Soccer Club using twitter to receive the latest time critical messages. MTSC will use twitter to provide a text message to your mobile device and twitter account when we have a timely update to field closings and/or game cancelations and important announcements about events during the soccer season. This service will be used in addition to our updates to the MTSC web site. We will limit our use of this service for urgent time related updates from MTSC. We encourage coaches, parents and family members to sign up for twitter and benefit from these messages. The offering is available to everyone that joins the twitter service and follows MetroTulsaSC.
If you already have a twitter account, skip steps 1-10 and continue to the next section. For those of you new to twitter, follow the instructions below to create your FREE personal twitter account.
1. Use Internet Explorer or equivalent and go to www.twitter.com\MetroTulsaSC
2. Click “Join Now” button.
3. Follow the instructions to enter your Full Name, User Name, Email Address, and new Password.
4. Click on “Create My Account”
5. On the next screen, click on the bottom of screen “Skip this step” to proceed with these instructions. (You can search for friends at another time).
6. If you have a mobile phone and you want text messages, follow the next 3 steps. Otherwise, messages will be sent to your email account.
7. To enter your mobile phone device, At the top left, click on “Settings” tab.
8. Click on “Devices” tab.
9. Enter your phone number and perform the verification test with your cell phone. (For text messages, there are no charges from twitter as only your phones standard text charges apply per your mobile phone contract).
10. Perform the next section of instructions to “Follow” MetroTulsaSC
If you already have a twitter account or just completed the steps above:
1. Use Internet Explorer or equivalent and go to www.twitter.com\MetroTulsaSC
2. Click on the MTSC logo and you will be re-directed to logon with your personal twitter account.
3. Once logged onto your account, click the “follow” button directly under the MTSC logo.
4. By default, device updates are OFF, click on the device updates and set to ON (Picture of the mobile phone). If you do not have a device, go to your settings\devices tab and add a cell phone device to receive twitter updates from MTSC. You will be instructed by twitter to send a text message as an approval procedure to activate your cell phone.
5. Unrelated but a good option if you do not desire to be listed on twitter social networking, login to your twitter account, choose settings and on the Account tab select the option to “Protect My Tweets”.
You are now set up to receive messages from MetroTulsaSC to your mobile device and twitter account.
